About Voyino

A marketplace born on the continent, for the continent.

Founded in Lomé, Togo, by a pan-African team. For African hosts and travelers from anywhere.

Voyino is an accommodation booking platform founded in Lomé, Togo, by a pan-African team. Our conviction: independent African hotels and guest houses deserve better than the 15–22% commissions imposed by Western platforms, and travelers — whether from the diaspora, Europe, North America or the continent itself — deserve transparent prices and payment methods that match their reality.

We are launching in Lomé and Abidjan, then Cotonou and Dakar. Our goal is not to copy Booking or Airbnb. It is to build the alternative the continent is missing.

Our story

Voyino is operated by KATALUXE SARL U, a Togolese company registered under RCCM TG-LFW-01-2025-B13-01323, with its head office in the Zone Portuaire of Lomé.

The idea came from a simple observation. The West African diaspora in Europe, Canada and the United States increasingly wants to come home — for holidays, family visits, investments, a third generation discovering where they come from. Yet what they find on global platforms reflects only a fraction of the quality accommodation available locally, at prices inflated by extractive commissions, with no way to pay in Mobile Money — the dominant payment method in West Africa.

On the other side, independent hoteliers — family guest houses, boutique hotels, diaspora aparthotels — see their margins squeezed by 15–22% commissions they cannot renegotiate.

Voyino was built to answer both frustrations at once.

Our mission

Let African hosts keep 100% of their accommodation revenue, while giving travelers a transparent service where fees are shown with no surprises.

In practice, that means three commitments:

  • 0% commission on the host side. When a host charges 30,000 FCFA a night, they receive 30,000 FCFA. Not 24,000, not 25,500. Thirty thousand.
  • A 12% traveler fee, transparent and displayed. No small print, no fees appearing at checkout. Travelers see the final total right on the search page.
  • Native Mobile Money. Flooz, T-Money, MTN Mobile Money, Moov Money — integrated directly through FedaPay, the licensed West African PSP. Bank card and transfer are also available for international travelers.

Our technical independence is not a detail. We run our own infrastructure (Hetzner Cloud, Coolify, self-hosted Supabase for critical services) rather than depending on American SaaS that can disappear or change their terms overnight. It is a structural choice for a service meant to last on the continent.

Our team

The Voyino team combines human leadership based in Lomé with technical operations assisted by artificial intelligence. That AI assistance — used for sourcing partner hotels, writing content, translation and moderation — is bound by strict human validation rules: no outbound communication (email, message, publication) is sent without prior approval from a team member.

That transparency matters to us. We do not hide our use of AI, we explain it, and every outbound interaction is logged and approved.
